Jeff Krause has been playing volleyball here in Minnesota and across the country for the past 30+ years. He started his career at Winona State University with the men’s club team in 1989-1990. He was a two-time USAV National Champion 1997, 2010 a USAV Runner-Up in 2012, a bronze medalist 2005 World Masters Games (Beach Volleyball) and has won many annual local, state, and regional championships.
His coaching career is on par with his playing career. He has been coaching the last 21 years and has a head coaching record of 442-196 with the following institutions: Cedar Falls High School (IA); Edina High School (MN); Nike Six Pack VBC (1998 USAV JNC Club 3rd Place), Mizuno Northern Lights VBC (2000, 2001, 2002 AAU and USAV JNC Open 3rd Place), Lakes VBC. The last four seasons Jeff has been the head coach for Vital 18-1s and 17-1s teams and will be returning to a head coaching position again this season with the 17-1s team. In 2015 Jeff lead the 17-1s team to Vital’s first team to qualify for USAV JO’s winning the American Division at the NL Qualifier. And in 2016 he took another 17-1s team to VVC’s first podium with a 3rd place finish in the Classic Division at the AAU National Championships and also had two players honored to the All-American Team.
Not only is Jeff a player and coach, he is considered as one of the top officials in the country. For the past 27 years he has refereed as a certified MSHSL/USAV/PAVO Local, State, Regional, and National for Referee, Scorekeeper, and Line Judging along with being a USAV/PAVO Clinician and Trainer.
Jeff will be entering his fifth season with Vital.
