Sophie Schwartz is from Woodbury, MN and started playing volleyball in middle school. In high school she was a middle blocker for Hill-Murray. Sophie was a three sport athlete, playing basketball and softball as well, and was the Athena Award winner her senior year.
Sophie played Division III volleyball as a middle blocker and two-time captain for St. Olaf College, playing her senior year under Vital 18-1’s coach, Emily Foster. She earned Academic All Conference honors three times, was named to the All MIAC Sportsmanship team and led the conference in blocks per set her senior season. Throughout college, Sophie was an assistant coach for the St. Olaf men’s club volleyball team, and has worked various high school and college camps as well.
Sophie graduated from St. Olaf College in May 2017 with a degree in Economics and minors in management and media studies, and currently works as a communications coordinator. This is Sophie’s first season coaching with Vital.
