Eryn Smith

Currently coaching: Vital 16-1 Gold

Eryn graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She decided to continue her education with a Masters in School Counseling K-12 through UND and will finish in 2025. This has provided her with the skills to really coach players as a whole person; not as just an athlete but a student, sibling, child, friend, and a community member! Eryn’s passion for taking care of the whole person plays heavily into her coaching style.

She started playing volleyball competitively on club teams at the age of 10.  She played for Northern Lights for most of her middle/high school years and finished her club player career at Hammerhead Volleyball. Eryn’s coaching career officially started as the head coach of a high school 9th grade team in North Dakota when she graduated college! Since then, she has head coached b-squad, JV, and has now found her place to settle in to as an assistant to Richfield high schools varsity team! For club seasons, Eryn has coached the 12, 16, and 17 age levels. Her 16s team ended with two bids to nationals and competing in Chicago!

Eryn sets firm expectations and likes her teams to play with a lot of energy and tenacity. With an extra emphasis on having some fun! She is super excited to be joining vital as a coach!
